Jan Felipe was born in 1984 in Rio de Janeiro and spent his childhood
and teenage years between France and Brazil. He writes melancholic pop
songs with Portuguese and French vocals and his songs are influenced by
indie-rock, trip-hop artists and brazilian
composers like Portishead, Radiohead, Björk, Jeff Buckley,
Elliot Smith, Chico Buarque, Emilie Simon, Los Hermanos, Camille or
Massive Attack. Although living in Brazil, Jan Felipe doesn't know how
to play Samba and may be losing his French. Over the last four years he
has played in several indie bands from Rio de Janeiro. In 2006 he
started to compose and sing his own songs, and since then Jan Felipe
produces his music as a solo artist. More information about Jan Felipe
can be found on his myspace site.
